Växter med varma färger i trädgården just nu. 

Warm colours in my garden just now. 

Mamma fiskmås vaktar på sin unge som fallit ut ur boet. Tyvärr slutade historien olyckligt. 

En räv tog måsungen. 

The seagull watches her kid who dropped out of the nest. Unfortunately, 

the story ended unhappily. A fox took the little one.

Mosaic Monday Bornholm

Ja, vi har ju varit på lillsemester på Bornholm. Nu undrar ni kanske vad man kan göra där? 

Man kan hyra en cykel, dock inte den på fotot. En cykeltur till  den gamla slottsruinen Hammershus blir en fin utflykt. Sedan finns det ett fjärilshus i Nexö, som jag upplevde som otroligt intressant med massor av olika fjärilar. Interiören är från Erichsens hus i Rönne som också har en fin trädgård. Fyren är Dueodde fyr och den är Skandinaviens högsta fyr, hela 47 meter.

Yes,  as I wrote the other day, we've spent some days on Bornholm. Bornholm is a Danish island, situated in the Baltic sea. It takes a little more than one hour to go there from Ystad with the catamaran ferry. Now you may wonder what can one do on Bornholm? In Summer it is a very lively island, full of tourists. Spring and Autumn  it is very peaceful there. 
You can rent a bike, but not the one on the photo. A bike ride to the old castle ruins Hammershus will be an interesting excursion. Then there is a butterflyhouse in Nexo, a very good one with  many different butterflies. The interior is from the old Erichsen house in Ronne, which also has a nice garden. The lighthouse is Dueodde lighthouse and is Scandinavia's tallest lighthouse 47 meters high.

Massor av underbara blommor fanns det på ön. Syrenen 'Sensation' hittade jag i en besöksträdgård/plantskola på Bornholm. Lots of lovely flowers on Bornholm.

Clematis Gillian Blades är tillbaka i min trädgård. De hårda vintrarna 2010 och 2011 decimerade mitt clematisbestånd betydligt, men några clematis verkar bara ha vilat i väntan på bättre tider.

Det är det som är så fascinerande med en del clematis, du vet aldrig var du har dem..... Så vänta och gräv inte upp dem du tror har dött för tidigt.

The hard winters of 2010 and 2011 decimated my clematis stock considerably, but some clematis seems to only have rested in anticipation of better times. That's what is so fascinating about some clematis, you never know where you have them ..... So wait a while and don't dig them up the "dead ones" too early.

Iris germanica

Nu börjar mina iris germanica att blomma. Vi hade en våt 

och kall sommar förra året, och det gillar inte irisarna. Det blir färre blommar efter en sådan sommar.... 

Now my iris germanica start to bloom. We had a wet and cold summer last year, and that don't suit the irises. There will be fewer flowers after such a summer ....

Dagens blomma/ Today's Flowers

Har varit på den danska ön Bornholm på en minisemester (fyra dagar). Vad blommar i trädgårdarna på Bornholm just nu? Clematis montana (och Wisteria sinensis) i massor, massor, MASSOR!!! Bornholomarna verkar också älska syrener. Trädgårdarna svämmar över med allt från vanliga bondsyrener i alla de färger, till de mer litet ovanliga som Moscow Beauty och Sensation och några dubbla som jag inte vet namnet på. Helt underbart. Och rhododendron och azaleor verkar också vara favoriter. Men vad är det som gör att man att längtar efter det ouppnåeliga? Här i kustområdet där jag bor är överlever inte clematis montana någon längre tid. När jag ser på mina foton från Bornholm bestämmer jag mig  för att göra ett nytt försök....... På bilden ett litet mer färgstark montana fotograferad i Svaneke.

Has been on  a mini vacation (four days) on the Danish island  Bornholm. What can you see in flowers in the gardens of Bornholm now? Clematis montana (and Wisteria sinensis)! The Bornholm people also seems to love lilacs. The gardens are overflowing with  lilacs in all the colors, the common liliacs and the more unusual that Moscow Beauty and Sensation and some double I do not know the name of. Absolutely fantastic. And the rhododendrons and azaleas also appears to be favorites. But what is it that makes you long for plants you know you can't grow where you live? Here in the coastal area clematis montana survives a winter or two but then goodbye! When I look at my photos from Bornholm, I decide to try it again ....... In the picture a little more colorful montana photographed in Svaneke.
